Activision’s New Incentive for Call of Duty Fans
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 publisher Activision has introduced a new way for fans to gain early access to the game’s upcoming open beta simply by streaming. By watching just one hour of the upcoming COD Next event on Twitch, players can earn a code for early access. The open beta is scheduled to launch on October 5, but pre-orders will already allow players access from October 2.
This approach is particularly beneficial for fans who haven’t pre-ordered but still want to participate in the beta testing.
Platforms
The beta will be accessible on all major gaming platforms, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Although there’s some skepticism over the continuing support for older consoles, Treyarch Studios has explained their reasoning, stating that a significant portion of their audience remains on these older platforms.
Early Access Through Promotions
In addition to Twitch, Activision has additional promotions available for early access beta codes through partnerships with services like Xfinity in the United States. Subscribers participating in the Xfinity reward program can claim codes online, further exempting them from the pre-order requirement.
For those who cannot access Xfinity, attending the COD Next event to obtain the access code is the favored alternative. The event promises to unveil new features and updates not only for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 but potentially also for Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty Mobile. It will be available to watch live on Twitch starting at 9:00 AM PT / 12:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM BST.
