Gemma Chan Joins the Cast of 007 First Light

Hollywood star Gemma Chan steps into the role of Selina Tan in the upcoming video game, offering a fresh character in the James Bond universe.

Gemma Chan, known for her performances in Crazy Rich Asians, Eternals, and The Creator, has officially joined the cast of 007 First Light as Selina Tan, MI6’s Head of Tactical Simulation. Chan will be both providing the character’s likeness and voice for the game, marking her debut as a video game character besides her voice role in Diablo 4.

As 007 First Light unfolds a brand new James Bond narrative with an entirely new cast, Selina Tan is designed specifically for the video game. The storyline will delve into Bond’s early years, featuring a younger version portrayed by Patrick Gibson, widely recognized for his role in Dexter: Original Sin.

In a recent announcement, IO Interactive disclosed that, alongside the already notable cast, Marvel’s Gemma Chan is set to portray Selina Tan, stating, “Joining the world of James Bond in video games has been such an exciting experience.” Tan is depicted as a high-ranking MI6 official who oversees tactical simulation programs aimed at honing the skills of Britain’s promising recruits.

The game, expected to launch in March 2026, recently showcased gameplay at a dedicated State of Play event. While the presentation highlighted beautiful visuals, some fans raised concerns over frame rate performance. Despite these issues, anticipation remains high as the development team promises a unique and engaging take on the beloved franchise.
