Capcom has recently unveiled an exciting new trailer for Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection. This latest teaser provides fans with a look into the characters and narrative that will be part of the upcoming RPG, building anticipation ahead of the game’s release.
The Monster Hunter Stories series started on the Nintendo 3DS back in 2016 as a spin-off to the immensely popular Monster Hunter series. It gained fame with its turn-based gameplay, offering a different experience compared to the traditional action RPG elements found in the main series. After the success of the first installment, which transitioned to multiple platforms including PS4 and Switch, Monster Hunter Stories 2 made its appearance in 2021. In July, Capcom announced Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection as the next chapter in this engaging franchise.
During the Tokyo Game Show, a new trailer was revealed, providing further insights into this upcoming RPG. The story unfolds 200 years after a significant conflict between two nations: Azuria and Vermeil. Players will journey as the heir to the Azuria throne, tasked with leading the Rangers alongside Eleanor, the Vermeil princess. Together, they will embark on an adventurous quest tied to their kingdoms’ future and an ancient prophecy regarding the birth of twin Rathalos. Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is set for release on March 13, 2026, and will be available on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
The trailer also hints at gameplay, showing protagonists battling against a Feral Chatacabra and a Magnamalo. While the visuals are limited, it’s clear that the main character employs a dual attack with their Rathalos companion. Fans can expect turn-based combat, similar to earlier entries in the Monster Hunter Stories series.
Additionally, Capcom announced updates to Monster Hunter Wilds, including a crossover event with Final Fantasy 14, which will introduce new quests and rewards for players.
